old post from 360..but still worth a read.

Ssssooo I'm watching now or was it frontline. Either way it was on Pbs(and was the ONLY thing worth watching at that time). They were talking to the auther of a new book about the Iraq and Vietnam...and how much alike they are. I remember I was watching "Vietnam the 10,000 day war" . Listening to what they were tell the rest of world how they were winning the war...We just need more time, more troops, more money....we can win this! Sound familiar. We have not learn from Vietnam, and like Vietnam I doubt we are going to win. How many kids do we have to ship home in bodybags? For us to learn! And like in Vietnam who are we asking to go and fight...The poor and the working class. Because why should the rich send there kids to fight and die for "democracy"....and don't fool yoursevles it's not about "democracy". It's about lining the pockets of a few. We have no real plan for Iraq. No plans to "win the war",no plans for a time table to get out. No real plans to help Iraq to achieve "democracy" . Much like Vietnam. This is my thought about people who want war.....let them go and fight it!

I remember this post on 360. Yes, worth a read again. It still stands today as it did when you first posted it.

Yep, It's also about one man's ego and not wanting to have to admit he was/is wrong. He's willing to let more soldiers die so that he can run out the clock and leave this mess to someone else. All because he doesn't want to have to admit defeat.

Now THAT'S the definition of megalomania.

If anyone other than Obama wins we'll be there for another 5 years... Hell if McCain wins, we'll be there for 100 years!

Yep. Remember when it started and anyone who suggested it might end up like Vietnam was shouted down, and public opinion was so pro dubya and war?

I like to consider Lincoln's quote on slavery: 'Whenever I see anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally', and swap the word slavery for war.
